  • Overview

    In this role, responsibilities will include reviewing, verifying and funding consumer loans within required timeframes.  Ensure accuracy and compliance with consumer lending policies and procedures.  Meet department standards and ensure effective productivity and quality levels are achieved. Provide assistance, training and direction to the funding staff.  Assist in regulating the department workflow to ensure work is processed in a timely manner in compliance, and goals are achieved.

    Responsibilities

    • Review lending documentation for accuracy and completion and fund loans.
    • Complete fraud verification and funding checklist
    • Communicate with branches and members regarding missing documents, exceptions and required stipulations
    • Nightly ensure departments disbursements balance
    • Use independent judgement and discretion to review and approve appropriate exceptions to funding and documentation guidelines
    • Ensure quality customer service to credit union members
    • Assist others with complex transactions, income calculations, and inspection of documents
    • Assist other team members with accuracy in balancing able to quickly identify and resolve errors
    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and that regulatory compliance standards are met by all team members
    • Assist with meeting agendas, audits, department scheduling, and reporting
    • Assist with meeting department established goals through queue management & app assignment
    • Effective problem solver, responds to requests for assistance on questions/concerns from members, dealers and other team members utilizing resources available
    • Take ownership of member issues, following escalation process to ensure resolution
    • Conduct training with new and existing team members on new policies, products and procedures
    • Give direction and feedback to others to increase their knowledge and performance
    • Perform all other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 4 years of consumer loan processing experience and 2 years of loan funding experience
    • Experience in a financial institution preferred
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent math skills and member service skills
    • Ability to deal with stressful situations with tact and diplomacy and resolve complex situations
    • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and accurately complete assigned tasks within strict timeframes
    • Thorough knowledge of Consumer Loan policies and procedures, and Patelco products and services
    • Ability to work independently and motivated to achieve goals with minimal supervision
    • Ability to provide leadership, support, motivation and professional development to assigned staff
    • Ability to effectively train other Funders and new employees
    • Proven ability to meet production goals
    • Display a high level of ethical standards and integrity
