    The Opportunity:

    Patelco is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer who will lead an agile development team and work closely with the enterprise architect on technology decisions for Patelco Credit Union’s Digital Banking Platform. We are looking for a creative individual, passionate about digital technology and bringing online/mobile solutions to life. The candidate should be a forward thinker who can provide guidance to product management on the direction of its software, whether to build or buy and the correct technologies and architectures of those systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current software development frameworks, Agile (Scrum) development methodologies, and deep knowledge of technology stacks including Microsoft, web services, and online and mobile applications.



    • Participation in all phases of project life cycle: analysis, design, implementation, test, debug, and deploy web based and desktop application.
    • Lead the software development team and be a coach and a mentor for junior developers using Agile (SCRUM) methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD) processes.
    • Lead development efforts including Discovery, Design or Functional Analysis of a Project.
    • Create and build POC to test out strategies and technology solutions.
    • Ensure technical documents are created and maintained.
    • Work with product development team members, as well as its leadership team and customers.
    • Be up-to-date with new technologies and architectures, application design patterns, for potential implementation within platforms.


    • BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Master in CS or MIS preferred.
    • 10+ solid software development experience in delivering low defect multi-tier applications.
    • Experience leading teams in Agile (SCRUM) methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD) process.
    • Well versed with CSS 3.0 and above, comfortable creating style guides and work with both User Experience and Backend developer to create sustainable solution.
    • Demonstrated strong proficiency with programming languages such as C# or Java.
    • Well versed in web development tools and frameworks, such ASP.NET MVS, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS and HTML. Demonstrated experience leading integrations of in-house applications with third-party applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate openly and effectively with all members of the team, management and cross-functionally.
    • Ability to multi-task and exercise good judgment in setting priorities.
    • Able to draft technical design documents.
    • Well versed in the design and implementations of mobile applications.
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, with new technology.
    • Experience with Agile project management and methodology.
    • Experience in leading technical projects, assignments and analysis.
    • In-depth experience in design, developing and maintaining services, business objects and APIs.
    • Must have excellent organization, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to work in teams and in a self-directed work environment.
    • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
