    The Opportunity

    In this newly created role, you will work within the internal audit team as a champion for the use of analytical business and technology solutions to support audit initiatives. This position will be the owner of the Continuous Audit Program.  In addition, you will locate and analyze data to increase the coverage and effectiveness of our audits.  Your analyses will provide insight to management by quantifying business risks and associated costs, while increasing our audit coverage and efficiency.  In order to be successful, you’ll need to use your excellent interpersonal skills to establish relationships with business stakeholders, data owners, and other analysts across the company.  As a result, you will gain a unique insight into the credit union’s systems and processes, as well as directly influence their effectiveness.  The ideal candidate for this role will have an extraordinary combination of analytical/technical skills and the ability to communicate his/her analyses in a concise and easy-to-understand fashion.   


    • Design and develop data models for the Continuous Audit program of Internal Audit. Accomplish this by continuously and efficiently querying large databases, analyzing complex data sets, and identifying trends and/or anomalies.
    • Document/communicate the results of your analyses in a clear and visually appearing manner, drawing conclusions and making recommendations to audit and business owners.
    • Perform population/sampling and analytic testing in support of internal audit reviews, investigations, and other ad-hoc projects.
    • Partner with colleagues in other departments for special data-related audit projects (i.e. IT Finance, Lending, OPS, etc.).
    • Design and build analytical dashboards for compliance and risk reporting purposes.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Management Information Systems, or related field
    • At least 5-7 years of experience working as a data/business analyst, auditor or related role
    • Working towards professional designation of (CISA, CIA, CPA, etc.)
    • Strong knowledge with querying Software such as: SQL, Tableau, or Alteryx or the willingness to learn these programs
    • Proficient Microsoft office skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
    • Preferred experience working within a financial institution.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Understanding of database concepts, including building relationships between tables, grouping data and producing cohesive analyses
    • Able to handle multiple requests and multi-task between various projects
    • Ability to work independently and effectively under strict deadlines, with minimum supervision.
