  • Overview

    In this role, the Branch Operations Specialist will provide oversight for the operational integrity of Patelco’s retail branch network. Key areas of operational responsibility include branch support, assistance in procedural development/implementation, and adherence to generally accepted banking/credit union operational practices.


    • Serve as the retail branch operations subject matter expert for the credit union.
    • Act as a primary contact for Retail Branches and Member Contact Center in answering operational questions to resolve in a timely manner.
    • Assist Retail Branches with new account opening processes, procedures and exception requests if applicable.
    • Assists Retail Branches and Member Contact Center with special account administration needs such as trust/fiduciary accounts, decedent accounts, Power- of- Attorneys, membership exceptions, and other specials review as necessary.
    • Responsible for core system user set up, user changes and user terminations.
    • Responsible for core system user password resets and system lock outs.
    • Provides first line of support for core system and new membership/ loan system issues.
    • Troubleshoot new membership booking errors.
    • Manage Help Desk Tickets to comply with service level standards.
    • Process member travel notification requests from members.
    • At the direction of the Branch Operations Manager, update changes in branch operations procedures.
    • Assist Branch Operations Manager with creation and/or revising Branch Operations instructional procedural job aides and branch operations forms.
    • Ensure department’s operations are aligned with organizational standards.
    • Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Must have HS Diploma/GED.
    • Must have at least 3 years’ operational and/or banking retail experience within the financial industry.
    • Minimum of 2 years working with credit union/bank branch policies and procedures strongly preferred.
    • Ability to be well organized, team-player, motivated and flexible with working hours which will include Saturdays.
    • Must have PC/Windows-based software experience and proficient in various Microsoft applications.
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
    • Demonstrated ability and desire to thrive in a challenging fast paced work environment.
