    The Opportunity

    The Membership Development Specialist is responsible for driving growth for Patelco Credit Union through external relationships, off-site events, and maintaining an outbound strategy that keeps Patelco visible in the community. This role identifies and cultivates opportunities for membership growth for the credit union. The Membership Development Specialist will manage all regional membership growth activities to include building a referral base, event planning and activation, assisting with membership onboarding, and deepening relationships with members to achieve Patelco’s service and quality objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Effectively present Patelco Credit Union as the preeminent credit union that empowers members to achieve financial freedom
    • Promote the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, and Brand
    • Have a thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services to promote Patelco to prospective members
    • Cultivate, develop, and maintain referral sources that drive growth to Patelco
    • Open new memberships and enter loan applications as needed
    • Network and maintain a partnership pipeline through calling and business to business visits
    • Plan, attend and promote offsite events, benefits fairs, and trade shows
    • Build effective working relationships with all Patelco departments to create and maintain quality products, services, and processes
    • Create and track reports and statistics on event and community involvement performance in order to analyze ROI for membership development efforts
    • Manage event and community partnership contract negotiations
    • Present and distribute marketing material to community and corporate partners onsite and digitally
    • Liaise between Retail, Community Outreach, Marketing, and Financial Education to build one team for growth initiatives
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Management, or Communications or related field of study is preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of business development or outreach experience, or proven consultative outbound experience in financial services required
    • Minimum of two years of previous experience in customer service, business to business background, relationship management
    • Experience in event coordination and execution
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to foster internal and external business relationships
    • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product and service solutions to communicate appropriate recommendations to uncover and address member needs
    • Strong public speaking and networking skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to operate as a self -starter with strong organizational skills
    • Experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentor role preferred
    • Able to work independently, with little supervision
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Willing and able to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
    • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time and may work evenings and weekends
